Michael Summits - On Top Of The World

Michael Summits - On Top Of The World

HE DID IT. HISTORY MADE. From your friends at SEA - proud sponsors of Michael Woods!

21 May 2026, Michael Woods reached the top of Mount Everest. At 8,848 metres, it is the highest point on Earth. And Michael became the first deaf British man ever to summit Everest. We couldn't be prouder.

WHO IS MICHAEL?

Michael is profoundly deaf, born in Liverpool. British Sign Language is his first language. He is a mountaineer, a BBC Sign Language presenter, and one of the most inspiring people we know.

He is also living proof that being deaf does not stop you from doing anything.

WHY THIS MATTERS TO US:

We are a deaf care company. Supporting the deaf community is what we do, every single day. We know how talented, strong and capable deaf people are.

We also know that the world doesn't always make things easy.

Too often, deaf people are underestimated. Too often, expectations are kept low. Michael refuses to accept that. And so do we.

When he stood on top of Everest yesterday, he showed the world what the deaf community already knows - there are no limits.
