About the Role

SEA Support Services is looking for compassionate, patient, and proactive Support Workers to join a dedicated 2:1 care team supporting a wonderful young man in his mid-twenties who is Deaf and autistic. He communicates using basic BSL, lip-reading, home signs, gestures and visual aids, and is full of personality — funny, cheeky, affectionate and family-oriented, with a great sense of humour and a love of sensory experiences.

You'll support him with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, medication, meal preparation, household tasks, and getting out into the community — he loves walks, swimming, the cinema, car journeys, baking and music with strong bass. Community access and a consistent routine are really important to his wellbeing.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing full personal care, medication support and meal preparation

  • Supporting daily community access (walks, swimming, cinema, sensory rooms, days out)

  • Encouraging independence with everyday household tasks

  • Supporting communication using BSL, lip-reading and visual aids

  • Following an established Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plan with consistent, calm, structured approaches

  • Working as part of a 2:1 team across a 24-hour rota

What We're Looking For

  • Full UK driving licence (essential — you'll be driving the client's own vehicle)

  • BSL skills (or willingness to learn/develop — BSL Level 1 desirable)

  • Deaf-awareness

  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism

  • MAPA/PBS training (or willingness to complete)

  • Experience with medication administration and personal care

  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach with excellent communication skills

  • Open to all genders
