Support Worker for Deaf Client

Location: Liverpool Job Type: Permanent and Bank Hours of work: Flexible Hours Salary: £13.45 – £15.85 per hour

Support Worker – Liverpool

Our services have been rated Outstanding by the CQC.

We're looking for a dedicated Support Worker to provide personalised support to a young man living in Liverpool. This is a wonderful opportunity to build a meaningful working relationship and make a real difference to someone's daily life.

About the Person You'll Support

You'll be working with an easy-going 25-year-old BSL user who is Deaf. He loves football, arts and crafts, spending time with dogs, and keeping active and busy. He thrives on routine, likes to plan his own week, and enjoys taking part in a wide range of activities — so you'll need to be someone who can keep things structured and engaging.

He is a BSL user with a learning disability, and communication is primarily through BSL and body language. He can be unsettled by sudden changes to routine or poor communication, so a calm, consistent, and clear approach is essential. When he needs time to decompress, space to process and walks help him most.

Your Role Will Include

  • Medication prompting and administration

  • Community access and social support

  • Travel support and household tasks

  • Sensory and learning/routine support

  • Implementing and working within a PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) plan

  • Building a warm, consistent, and trusted relationship

What Makes a Great Match

The ideal candidate will be calm, structured, and experienced in supporting young adults with learning disabilities. BSL skills and Deaf awareness are essential, and experience with MAPA/PBS approaches is highly valued. A driving licence is not required as the client uses public transport. You'll understand the importance of routine and clear communication, and be someone who genuinely enjoys keeping things active and engaging.
