Support Worker – Community & Home Support

The Role
You'll provide personalised care and support to Deaf clients living in their own homes, helping them to live full, independent lives. No two days are the same.
Your role will include:
Supporting clients in social and leisure activities
Personal care — washing, bathing, and showering
Help with mobility
Supporting clients to prepare meals and assist with shopping
Helping clients access information
Supporting and developing communication
Assisting with household tasks
Encouraging independence and learning new skills
Budget planning and managing money
Teaching transport skills
BSL skills are not essential — full training will be provided for the right candidate.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential:
Proven experience as a Support Worker and ability to work as part of an established team
Deaf awareness and a good understanding of individual communication needs
Empathy and a person-centred approach to support
A positive attitude to working with Deaf adults and children
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (training can be provided)
British Sign Language Level 1 or above (training can be provided)
