Support Worker – Community & Home Support SEA Support Services

SEA Support Services are recruiting Support Workers to provide care and support to Deaf and Deafblind clients living in their own homes. Due to the rapid expansion of our services, we have a number of exciting opportunities available.

Our services have been rated Outstanding by the CQC.

The Role

You'll provide personalised care and support to clients depending on their individual needs, helping them to live full, independent lives. No two days are the same.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting clients in social and leisure activities

  • Personal care - washing, bathing, and showering

  • Help with mobility

  • Supporting clients to prepare meals and assist with shopping

  • Helping clients access information

  • Supporting and developing communication

  • Assisting with household tasks

  • Encouraging independence and learning new skills

  • Budget planning and managing money

  • Teaching transport skills

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Support Worker and ability to work as part of an established team

  • Deaf awareness and a good understanding of individual communication needs

  • Empathy and a person-centred approach to support

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (training can be provided)

  • British Sign Language Level 1 or above (training can be provided)

  • A positive attitude to working with Deaf adults and children

BSL skills are not essential - full training will be provided for the right candidate.
